Fast clock, slow clock

Another original puzzle I wrote years ago...

I have a clock next to my bed, nothing particularly special about it.  But there is something wrong with it.  Most of the day, it tells the right time.  But every day, there are times when the clock is an hour fast.  At another time of day, the clock is an hour slow.

What's wrong with my clock?

  1. Is your bed on a boat or a train? Or some such?

  2. The problem has to do with the clock itself.

  3. digital clock - with the lower left vertical indicator line out in the "ones" digit of the hour. So at 6:00 am & pm, it is one hour slow (reading 5:00), and at 8:00, it is one hour fast (reading 9:00, assuming the bottom line of the indicator is used with the 9:00, though I don't think it normally is).... ?

  4. ummm.... but now that I think about it that would make 10:00 become non-sensical. ...

  5. "Most of the day" is anything more than 50% :)
